About LOUISTON
Influenced by such artists as Neko Case, Elliott Smith, and Sam Cooke, Lou DiPetro describes his song-writing. “I’ve always been enamored with artists that make music I love, and I’m driven to try to make similar work that others will love, if that makes sense. I love to write and need to write…writing songs is a way to express myself through writing. I draw inspiration from granular life - regular old day to day stuff. I find that particular material much more interesting and relatable.”
Lou DiPetro (Trumansburg, NY) on acoustic guitar will be joined by Colleen Countryman on piano and Chris Ploss on percussion, accordeon, and bass. Together they are “Louiston”, Lou’s Americana Group whose name is taken from Lou’s long-time singer-songwriter moniker. Lou offers an acoustic-centered folk n’ roll, from toe-tapping flat pickers to tender, finger-picked tunes. His storytelling about his songs is as captivating as the songs themselves. Lou will be sharing songs and stories from Louiston’s deep catalogue. Louiston’s latest single, “March”, is available online through all major streaming sources.
Louston is a fresh, and original addition to the regional and local music scene. We know you’ll love him.
